CorreLog, Inc. to Host Two Speaking Sessions and Feature New Release of zDefender™ for z/OS at SHARE Sacramento, March 11-16

Overview: CorreLog, Inc, the leader in multi-platform IT security event log management, announced speaking sessions at the upcoming SHARE Sacramento 2018 conference, March 11-16. CorreLog will host an educational speaking session titled, “Digital Certificates – How they Really Work (Part 1 of 3)” and a vendor sponsored presentation titled, “Use Cases for Preventing Breaches by Correlating Real-Time Mainframe Events with CorreLog zDefender™”. For writers, bloggers, researchers, and more this is a great way to learn about the growing threats mainframes face as they become more connected to the internet and the best ways to protect data stored on them from outsider threats.

The digital certificate educational session is the first part of a three-part series on digital certificates and how to manage them for z/OS. Attendees will learn about the certificate process, to prepare for IBM's recent change to no longer shipping "standard" certificate-authority (CA) certificates with RACF, putting the responsibility on users to understand and manage certificates on their own.

The Issue: Despite popular opinion, mainframes are not un-hackable and with 80 percent of the world's data running through them, organizations must make sure they have the best security measures in place to protect them. CorreLog hopes to bring awareness to the importance of securing mainframe systems. CorreLog's zDefender™ for z/OS expands the role of corporate IT security systems to include real-time mainframe messages from RACF, ACF2, Top Secret, DB2 accesses, and other important user activity data relevant to network security.
